Consider buying a proper jig rod matched with a fixed spool reel loaded with 30 lb braid (300 metres),bring plenty of pirks in the 250 to 600 gram range, fitting an assist hook is a good idea and you may have to upgrade the trebles, some big shads and jigheads would also come in handy, you will have to bring everything you need with you because tackle is scarce in the remote areas and anything they do sell is very expensive, give Dan Lynch a call at halfway angling he has a decent range of stuff for Norway,Remember not to exceed your baggage allowance or the airlines will fleece you for excess.

I'm heading there in Aug myself - for the fourth year in a row. One thing to remember is that the huuuuuge coalfish are mid-water, 30-60m.
As for gear - braid, not nylon, 300m or more on a good reel (I use a Penn 4/0 and an ABU BG10000). I also bring a spinning rod for the small coalfish. And don't forget some kind of buttpad. The best lures by miles are, unsurprisingly, Norwegian pirks - you may need one as heavy as 1kg, if you fish a strong current, but 500g is usually heavy enough, but they're not cheap - nothing is in Norway!
