Hey guys, im going to get myself a new rod and reel for the new season. Im looking for a top quality rod and reel capable of landing big fish,conger, etc and am willing to pay big for a higher spec model. Any suggestions welcome.

quick update. have been recommended the shimano tld 25 boat reel.has anyone any experience with this reel.

I use the shimano TLD15 and the Daiwa kenzaki 30/50 rod for wreck conger fishing and find this outfit fine. The TLD 25 is an big reel probably more suited to shark fishing.

oh right. I might scale down to the tld 20 so. How do you find the shimano's. Heard theyre a very well built reel. Unfortunately i lost my last one over the side of the boat first time using it.

Good strong reels. You should get years and years of reliable service out of them. Personally, I'd go for the 15 over the 20.

I would go For a diawa slosh 30 . Or a saltist 30 h. 40h/50h if money is no object. .A slosh is a very good alrounder. 100 euro .. .
Dont Buy An abu Over ratered . I have a 7000 and it ok . but not a patch on the saltist or slosh.
