Herring

I'm looking to get out in the boat for a run and hoping to pick up a few herring for the freezer for bait .I got some out of Bray a couple of years ago on Paddys day and was wondering if there any marks out of Bulloch or DunLaoghaoire for them? Alternatively are there any showing in Bray and anyone know when they are around in general ?

i was out last weekend bait fishing and also doing a bit of jigging and not a sniff, there was also another boat trawling sabakis ang jigging nothing at all.
all we had was 2 codling on the boat brutal out there at the moment

We picked a few dozen up 2 weeks ago of the east antrim cost very close to shore and good size ones too

Thanks John .Might try for a ray instead so with last years Mack and a couple of boxes of squid left over .Only ray we had in boat in Dublin bay last year,my young lad got,was in April .I reckon banks were trawled out after that .

Know the feeling .Started the big engine with rabbits ears during week and ran it for 15 mins no prob and same with aux .Just need to put it in the water now .I made a big mistake starting kids on GAA .No spare time on saturdays now let alone the helpers .

i never incouraged my kids to take up any of that team ball chasing stuff , fishing martial arts and swimming was the way i pointed them the two of them can do 50m in around 45seconds

They already did .2 matches yesterday and training in morning and still made a comp in Arklow at 6.30 only half an hour late .Eating a pizza in the car on the way didnt help the indigestion.

2 of us were bitten off and another had a savage rattle .Reckon something going around tearing the whiting off the hooks .
