Just noticed on Glasgow Angling Centre that they are having a clear out of Penn Waveblaster Evo Braid 20-50lb class rods for £60!!
Surely this has to be a billy bargain? They used to retail for close to £200?
I have no immediate need for one but I am kinda tempted

Might get some use out of it in the future lol

Noticed that myself, think I'm going to have to invest also! No real need for it at present but it's hard to refuse a bargain like that

That's great to hear

I recently sold all my boat gear and replaced it with Daiwa Kenzakis in 6-12lb and 12-20lb, so with the 20-50lb Penn added to my arsenal that should be near enough all bases covered

It will handle 99% of fish we are ever likely to see...................

Would the 20-50 be suited for blue shark

Likewise I was wondering if it would have the backbone for common skate? There's a chance I might get a trip over to Oban in Scotland where they run to 200lb!

Have seen them handle halibut to 80 or 90 lb with ease while i landed a 100lb plus one with the 8/12lb rod earlier in the year for £60 you wont go wrong... cant see why they wouldn"t be ideal for skate and blues as long as you have your drag set correctly they big boys will swing out of a 20/50 all day long...............

Did yours arrive mate? I ordered mine on the 28th, no sign of it yet!
Just bought a mint Penn Senator off ebay to pair it with, the reel is about 40 years old but seems to be in great nick! Would 40lb braid be enough for general sharking?
