Howth Mackeral - Whiting

Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:36 pm

Hi All

I am Possibly going to launch the small boat on Sat for a run out of howth. Is there any point bringing a rod and doing some feathering for a few pike baits? Any fish knocking about?

Thanks

Adam

Ah go on then I forgive you :D

Yeah it was surprisingly good for this time of year. We got about 30 macks - a good mix of big fat fellas for dinner and around 15 joeys at about six inches which will be perfect for the pike

also got a lot of 4-6 inch whiting which I find are excellent wobbling and sink and draw baits which my mate has had a 20 on recently. As good as smelt for the wobbling. Five pollock from the rough ground on the bailey side of the eye

The pike in my avatar? 26.6
