Hi Andy,
Agree with ye, some of the marks where we caught tope last year have been very unproductive this year, for what ever reason. Have seen & heard of a good few blanks on the marks where several tope were taken most sessions last year.

Its strange maybe its the abundance of macks this year , and there not feeding on the dead baits

Your not the only one Andy....Some of my more productive marks have produced Nought this year.
Not one single tope this year...I have noticed they are doing a lot of dredging over at corballis so that will really affect the
fishing around the surrounding areas...as for the other marks I am at a loss as to why they have not produced !!

this tope season was one of the best in recent memory in the shannon estuary, also a mix of
females and males, unlike the usual predominance of males. who knows why?

dont forget lads the macks were also very late showing .so it could be early days yet.the water clarity is been affected by the dredging out at the bailey yesterday you could see the different patches of water we anchored up between the kish and the bailey about 2 miles out and blanked. not as much as a doggie and that was with 4 rods all with tasty diffent baits.
the mackeral were also on the missing list were up to last thurs day we were getting plenty
