boat fender needed

ha all does anybody know where i can get some side fender for a boat.. i am looking for a d-shape rubber it cant be any wider than 38mm on the flat part of the d.. i am looking for enough for a 18 ft boat... thanks..... hope fully in ireland some where...

It's called "D" fendering it's expensive enough here's a site in the UK just to give you an idea, their prices look good too!

It's a waste of time unless you use aluminium banding inside the "D" to mount it with and use stainless bolts rather than screws, If you just screw it on it will be forever falling off :wink:

thanks mate had a look at the site.. i will phoned them in the morning.. i seen a d shape one in pvc with a centre incert with it.. do you know aything about it...

Rubber is probably better than PVC as it shouldn't crack, I have seen it mounted using aluminium or nylon banding, the band is put inside it to lay on the flat side the head of the bolt tightens up against it and is a permanent job! I've also seen it mounted on a few very expensive charter boats with no banding and using just self tapper screws :roll: :evil:

A tip for you don't have a joint on a curve it will break you heart afterwards try and keep joints to a minium and down the sides midships :wink:
