Do you have a name for it? I suggest "TITANIC 2" :P :P :P
No, seriously, please, in the interest of your own safety, do not attempt to use it as fishing boat, take the money instead and save yourself a lot of hassle and probably a lot utterly useless expenditure.
The men from RNLI have enough to do already...

I bet the chap that put that together was really proud of his handy word… would you happen to know if he survived its maiden voyage,

The engine looks a bit neglected but I bet it will be still running when I’m long gone… as a matter of interest !!! How would you launch a boat with a tiller like this,

Do you have to put it on props then let the tide raise it, or drop it from a great height and hope for the best .

a petters engine running is worth a grand and with the timbers replaced with new marine ply its a different boat and a good sea boat these are used around the country as potting boats and are good stable and deep.perfect for off shore fishing the guy offering a grand knows exactly what it is and what its worth fixed up

Daveire,

All jokes aside, The more I look at it the more I want it in my yard, I’m already thinking of raising the nose a bit and putting a little cuddy on and maybe raise the sides a little and as “John 1” said strengthen the transom,

The 2 b 1 running along the sides could be filled and rounded off to give it a finished look and I would also add more strength to the sides because of the size of fish I would be pulling over it, :)

I would enjoy a little project like that, and as twinkle said the running engine and prop is worth the grand, even if it was taken out for another boat,

In a way I'm happy that your not near enough for me to have a look at it... bet it goes for €1500 give or take a ton. as is.

If you can get a grand for it take it and run

With a single cyl Petters it's backwards it will be going and by the time you're finished all the "little things" you'll be an old man!

So my advice is sell it and make someone else unhappy :D

Put a match to that bundle of junk and have a clear conscience. You will be doing some poor unsuspecting budding sailor, his friends and the RNLI a great service.

See if you can find a product called "Rino truck bed liner" it is used to paint the truck bed of a pick up truck, it's very thick. Scrape sand and paint everything inside the boat will make it look clean and might even be waterproof to some extent, looks like a nice little skiff to me.
