Ballylongford, Co Kerry

Has anyone launched from Ballylongford, Co Kerry? is it very tidal? i.e., if the time isn't right will I be either stuck on the trailer or in mud? Fishing out the estuary is the plan.

Spent time shore fishing down that way as my grandparents are from the village. VERY tidal down but has some of the best shore fishing i have ever seen. I caught double figure thorny's :o from the shore on a spinning rod and lug more than once when fishing for bass and flounder. There is a slipway at Saleen or "the Quay" past lislaughtin abbey. Don't think you can launch at the bottom of the tide as the slip doesn't reach the channel around low tide. Drop into Finucane's pub as Mike Finucane fishes himself.

will call down before without the boat and ask for him.
Was going to use Tarbert but B'Longford is nearer the outer estuary, but @ 15knts, will take a while to get out there
