Guys,

I was quoted 160 for my outboard service. Its a 8hp 2 stroke. Does this sound pricey or good?

Thanks

sounds abit dear to me depending on whats been done if hes replacing the empeller it might make it that bit expensive but a service with oil plugs ect 100 euros would cover it

clew bay boats in westport did ours,a johnson 25hp, full service for 99 euros.

If all you want doing is the impellor, filter, oils and plugs, do it yourself, its really not that difficult and there is plenty of info available online. An hour would do it for you no hassle.

These are the guys that quoted me 160.

But I rang back a few days later and they then quoted me 120 for the same job (they must have thought I was a new customer and hadnt been speaking to them already  )

All the other places seem to average 80-90 and I found someone to do it for 70.

Pays to shop around.
