multi tip boat rod

I am looking to buy a multi tip boat rod can anyone give me some ideas on what sort of rod to buy

There is a huge variety on the market George at various prices.A High spec boat rod for competition fishing would cost maybe €450 in the case of the Tubertini Atlantic.I would recommend the Tubertini Gorilla as a great value multi-tip rod as is the Grauvell Anaga.

Depends what you want it for George, if it's for competition type scratching then the Tubertini mentioned is excellent. If you want something that you can use for general fishing and switch to a lighter tip for bream, pollack etc then the Anaga would be my first choice.

If looking for different comptition type rods I'd recommend a telescopic one which can be locked at varying lengths.

I used to use the anaga 270 for about 4 years, great rod, super price, does a great job, try get the 2.85mt version if you can and it should be about 70 eu, if this type of rod suits you and you want to move up than the Tubertini Gorilla boat in 3.5mt is the next step on the ladder and should cost around the 150 to 180 mark.
The top step on the ladder is the Tubertini Atlantic 4.0mt, light, very very powerfull, great casting, balance and sensitivity, but then it will cost you about 450eu, or 350 str in the uk.
There is no point in using any of these rods without a proper fixed spool reel in a 5000 size, loaded to the rim with 20lb braid, I recommed Berkley fireline or whiplash crystal, and ALWAYS use a 15' to 20' mono leader on the reel.

I was actually thinking about buying one of those Dave, but heard about their penchant for becoming a multi piece rod.... lol, do you know if they have sorted the breakage problem out ?

As far as I'm aware (from their UK agent) they wont be back on the market from the present source. It's a pity as the original was an excellent rod even at £100 more expensive. Used one from Andy Selby at Weymouth and it was cracker, hence my purchase of the breakable one.
