I have tried searching through the site, to pick up some info on the use of Braid and have found a lot of conflicting info about how good / bad braid is. I am currently using Mono, but years ago I used to prefer using Dacron (sp?).
I have a new spool of 50lb Penn wave blaster dynabraid at the house which I bought before the season started, as I was told it was similiar to dacron by the guy in the shop, I then noticed some negative write-ups on here about braid, so I just loaded the reel with mono.
I am purely talking about boat fishing, so casting characteristics dont matter. If I was to load my reel with the braid is there anything I need to know before I do?

Try it out, you'll never go back to mono unless for shallow water.
You'll need to stick backing on your reel first. If you get snagged when fishing use a stick rather than wrapping round you hands to free it.
A bit about spooling with braid here -

braid is a lot more sensitive than mono, you can detect every bite.
