Recommend a boat rod please

Alright lads,

Ive been reading through pages on this forum & I think im more confused now than I was when I started. Basically I have been doing some boat fishing around dalkey. I have been using my Pier/beachcaster rod and okuma fixed reel. I think its time I invested in a rod more suited to boat fishing.

Can someone please recommend a rod to use with my fixed spool reel, ( prehaps around the 60 euro mark). From what I gather, a 30lb rod would be ideal.

On a side note, It seems to me a multiplier reel is more suited for boat fishing but I mostly read that they are definitly not for begineers. Would there be any harm in picking up a cheap one just to see what its like?

Thanks all

Have a look at the Grauvell Anaga, good rod with two tips, 2.7m version if you can get it. One quiver tip for the smaller stuff and a normal one for general fishing.

The way it's ringed it works fine for both fixed spool and multiplier. Nothing wrong with the fixed spool for boat fishing although the multiplier is easier to work with for drift fishing or 'gilling for pollack.

Go for the longer 2.85m version and enjoy. Cracking rod for the money.
