fish finder for small boat

hi lad just wondering i have a small o'sullivan boat with an out board engine and im lookin for a fish finder is there 1 you dont need a large battrey for and about how much would it cost

one of the cheaper Garmin units should do. AS with all things in life, you get what you pay for. There are some decent budget units out there though. The cheaper units will be good for depth and Might be ok for structure type.

There are some portable units that you can run off the smallest 12v battery. They can be moved from craft to craft.

I had an Eagle Fisheasy on a 13 foot O'Sullivan. I made a U shaped bracket for it out of wood which sat upside down on the thwart beside me at the stern. A Bungee cord secured it there during trips. I ran it from a 7Ah Sealed lead acid battery. The transducer was fitted to the transom on a bracket. I later fitted it to a 17 footer. This was entry level spec but did the trick. When you have your wish list, look at the current consumption on the specifications. Color units often draw more current than monochrome as do dual frequency units.

Connect 2 6v batteries in series. That's what I do on my kayak.
