anybody ever been to Norway fishing was thinking of going . was wondering
if its worth going how much it costs an how i would go about booking it

Certainly is worth it for the experience. And the fishing. Big Cods, Halibut, Wolffish, Torsk, humongus Coalies, Norwegian Haddock....

I went 4 or 5 years ago, from England, so I can't comment on prices/arrangements on trips from Ireland. However, there was someone from SAI who went very very recently and posted a report in the Holiday Snappers forum, but it seems to have been lost in the last site crash and not restored on the backup. And for the life of me, I can't remember who posted it.

a group of us were there for the last 3 years ,fished skervoy with anglers world holidays ,self drive boats were dead on ,maybe a bit daunting if your not used to fishing small boats though ,one night last year my boat was struggling going up the face of waves ( it was a bit rough) :lol:
well worth the trip a guy in our group had a cod of around 60lb and every one else had 30lb plus fish that night . be prepared to fish at night ,june,july,august the sun doesn't really set so its still daylight but the early hours seemed to produce the better fishing . if you can get a group big enough for 2 boats 4-6 people is safest as then theres always another boat to hand if you get into difficulties , 3 to a boat is fine .

thanks for that sounds good if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost

it was about 800 sterling per head for flight accomadition and boat hire ,fuel for the week was around 100 each but we did cover alot of ground ,the furthest mark we fished last year was about 15 miles from port ,but this was an exception with flat calm conditions and 2 other boats plus ours so it was safety in numbers , we've had plenty of cod 20lb plus ten minutes from the harbour and they dont really like you venturing to far anyway . we also brought our own vhf radios as there are none on the boats , they just give you local mobile numbers for contact in an emergency , which is fine when you can get service :roll:

i've heard of cod to over 60Ibs. wood like to get sometime too. really want a 20Ib COD
