From what I can gather becoming a charter skipper has become a minefield! Between the qualifications of the skipper and the licensing of the vessel it is not the easy thing it was once!
Both Angus and Mohawk are charter skippers and I’m sure that a pm to them, if they don’t happen by, wouldn’t go amiss.

Big job, I reckon.
I think you can divide it into two parts, your ticket and your boat. I don't know what you need to have a proper boat, as regards code of practices etc.
You ticket will need the commercial endorsement. Advanced powerboating level 3, First Aid at sea, radio course, personal survival at sea course, navigation course..... loads to do, really, before you get that commercial endorsement.
Be interested myself to see all that's needed.

Gawd help you! Start with the department of marine down in Cork in respect of the licence you will need and hunker down from there!

Hi Steve
Were do i start. getting a boat passed for a p5 licence is the hard part unless you buy a boat with a p5 then you have to do a first aid sea survival and firefighting course. then you have to do a passanger boat ticket. all of which takes time and money .I looked at buying a new boat fom uk a mine field to get it passed for a p5 here.
Have Fun
Angus
