Mazury 400

Fri Jan 04, 2008 12:11 am

Hi Chaps,
I'm still on the look out for a new boat buts it difficult with such low funds especially when knowing that an extra couple of grand would get me a half decent boat and another couple of grand would get me what I'm looking for.

Close to closing the deal on this little boat as a stepping stone until I can afford something bigger at £3,500 do you think its worth it.

Has anyone any experience of getting a boat put on the liverpool ferry to be picked up on the other side.

30hp 2 stroke ELPTO 2004 package

I had the same experience as Rodey, was getting messed about with the ferry company so just decide to go over and pick the boat up.

The fare worked out £20 more expensive for the return journey, than just getting the boat put on at liverpool docks.

£3.5k sounds a lot of money for such a small boat, what you using her for?

Cheers for the advice I'm starting to think its a bit over priced myself, I do alot of Pike fishing in the winter and inshore fishing including tope in the summer. I have a 13ft Dory at the mintue but it has plenty of floor space.

I'm never off Boats and Outboards BTW.

Marsh

For that sorta dough and if your absoulately dying for a new boat, think along the lines of orkney, spinner, longliner, strikeliner even if your lucky seahog.

All have good resale values especially the orkneys, and all offer good fishing platforms in that price bracket. Fair enough that wee boat has a lot of space for casting etc when after pike, but there's no shelter/ no cuddy, in truth its not fit for the sea it's to small.

What type of boat are you after in the long run????

To be honest its the same size as my own 13ft dory but its about 25years old and has only got a 10hp therefore I wanted to upgrade on a low budget, don't agree that its to small for the sea as I've been using mine for the last 5 years and have caught plenty of good fish from it (see attached).

In about 4 or 5 years I'd love to upgrade to a warrior 165 or a predator, this would enable me to go Tope fishing all season instead of hand picking my days, the only problem then is they're too big for the piking. I live in Kilkeel Co.down which is a small fishing village within 20 min of leaving the house I'm fishing over good tope ground so hand piking my evenings is that big of an issue.

Such is life........Think I'm going to go for the Mazury I've been watching them for the last 12months and think its a fair price but not a bargain.

Hang on a sec' there Marsh, but you probably don't know that we have a forum here for buying/selling gear. You have to be registered on the site for more than 6 months and/or have more than 50 posts to access it.

Anyhoo,

ConorH has his boat up for sale on it. Here's the details:

A sad day but here goes. Lack of enthusiasm from my 2 co-owners (they won't go out in the rain and one has taken up golf) is forcing me to sell the boat. It's too big for me to handle on my own so am selling to downsize. I would consider a boat swap and partial exchange of monies. Full inventory below - I will supply photos to whoever wishes and callers are more than welcome at the house.

Inventory
------------
Sea Hog Shortie - Red
Roller Coaster Trailer and winch
50 HP Evinrude
Tonneau
GPS
VHF
Fishfinder
Bilge pump
Rod Holders - (4 x stainless steel inset - 3 side mounted)
2 batteries (1 leisure for electrics, 1 Varta for ignition)
Battery Charger
Anchor & anchor rope
Petrol Tank, pump and hose
Security Tow Chain
Trailer Lightboard and cable
Boat Hook
Brand New Mounting Bracket - used once
3750 sterling for the lot.

4350 sterling - including Brand New 4 stroke 4hp Mariner Long Shaft Aux engine - used once on Lough Muckno to test out (bought with bracket).

No offers , this is rock bottom. Sold as a single item i.e. I won't sell any items separately. All questions welcome.

That's only £250 off your budget. I've seen the boat used in Donegal and it's a good un. It's worth a pm to Conor at least.

Now that is a bargain depending on the condition/age of the package,

Best scenario would be for her in doors to let me keep the Mazury for my lake and river boat and inveest in something larger for the sea but I would guess that there's more chance of me walking on the moon.

Steve,
That forum (Fishing Tackle For Sale/Wanted) is on this site. Site policy dictates that it is hidden to users of less than six months and users with less than fifty posts.
