hi,had my boat moored in the bay during aug-sept,had some good days out with smoothound and bullhuss and on one calm day about 7 tope,my boat is now up for sale its the shetland alaska 5m the best in its class,as i have bought a quicksilver.does any one know where any reefs and wrecks are in the bay so we can try for other fish.i have a gps /ff ,the bay seems to be mainly sand ,any info would be helpfull.

Don't know any GPS co-ordinates, but from charter trips I've been on there are a couple of reefs not far offshore from the Galway side of the bay, past Spiddal, good pollack fishing. Also between Inis Oirr and the Clare coast there are a few reefs over that way, cod, pollack, coalies, wrasse, etc
You'll find it hard to get GPS numbers off anyone really, you'll have to do most of your own ground work...

i never knew you could get smoothhound in Galway bay. fair play.
i would echo what Kev said about the coordinates i think it will be hard to get them off anyone.

Yes, I would echo fishinmidget's comment.
You will find specific information as to good marks for this area within this newsgroup. Just use the search function.

try and get in contact with your local scuba diving club they might have some wreck and reef marks. give it bash you never know

i know a few marks about the place, dunno gps co-ords but have visual markers :lol:
i know a mark that has produces specimen thornies too :D
