Hi all
we were looking at doing some fishing around the bray to greystones area and was wondering if anyone can advise on the slipways?
our options are dun laoghaire with a longish steam down or else bray or greystones to be closer. now i know dun laoghaire is an all tides slip but does anyone know how good or bad the other two are.
would be looking at launching two hours before high water but would need to be in one and a half to two hours after of low water. will be launching a 16+ strikeliner with a breakback trailer (needs about 2 foot to launch) with a 1.8l saloon. can rope launch or retrieve if we have to.
any info much appreciated

hi adam, the slipway in bray harbour is not to bad at the moment ,its a little bit green so you could trow some sand on it or rope your boat down, thats up to you , the thing to watch in bray is the tides, it can be a bit of a challange if your engine does not have trim and tilt , , for instance if you are coming into bray harbour by sea you must always hug the wall to the left or right as there is a sand bank in the middle of the harbour the only time you can go straight tru is at full tide any other time you are risking a prop.the same applys when going out the best thing to do is keep in the river on the wall side of the moored boats. you will be able to launch and retrive 2 hours before and after the tide unless its a 0.8 or lower you will want to give it 2 and a half hours just to be on the safe side.
bit of a long answer but hopefully this can help
