Boat Deck Light

Hi Folks,

Was thinking of getting a deck light for our Seahog and maybe doing a bit of night fishing. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are solar powered ones any good? If a standard deck light is rigged to a battery what sort of drain do they have on the battery?

Does anyone have any links to good ones?

Cheers,
Trev

Why not use a headlamp. Less hassle and usefull for getting the boat back on the trailer.
If you want to install a deck light the bigger the wattage on the bulb the bigger the drain on the battery. stay under 5 watt.

a sparks buddy of mine converted an emergency light of about 14 inches for me. he attached a switch and a kettle lead connector for charging at home. because the bulb is fluorescent we get about 8-9 hours continuous use out of it. we use sticky back Velcro strips to attach it to the bulk head.

hope this helps
