Hi all, hope someone can help me out here. I am looking for a Sea Anchor for a 26Ft boat. I know that Union do them, but they are way to dear for my liking and I know that there are cheaper ones out there somewhere. Any help very much appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and many thanks to anyone with advice.

A "sea anchor" is not really an anchor at all!!
It is a canvas funnel like bag that keeps a drifting boat head to wind it looks very similar to a wind sock.
CH do indeed stock sea anchors at their outlets in Cork City, Skibbereen and Belfast.
If it is a good anchor you need buy a Bruce you will not find better. I have tried and tested all the others in extreme conditions and the Bruce wins hands down. CH have genuine and imitation Bruce anchors to fit your budget.

Many thanks lads. I am looking for the Sea Anchor to steady the boat into the the wind and waves and to slow the drift a bit. Many thanks again.

Until you get one a bucket or a fish box on the end of a rope will act as a poorer substitute

Thanks for that Jim. We fish Dingle Bay and there seems to be a short sea running all the time now and lots of the guys are having bilge keels fitted. We are going for the bilge keels also, but in the mean time we are going to try the sea anchor, and thanks to you we will now try the bucket.
Many thanks again Jim
