Don't use a loop of rope!!!!!!!!!!! It will run hard along your warp and cause excessive wear to the warp in no time. if you want to save money use a "Carbine Clip" or a shackle with both of these you will need to splice a short length (about 10") of heavy soft wire (SS multi strand 5-6mm) into the warp just where it meets the chain. This wire is bent in a ">" shape with the open mouth end of the ">" facing the anchor. This wire acts as a stopper, the clip runs easily over the narrow end of the "<" but gets jammed in the wide end if it tries to run back.
This eliminates the problem of the anchor sinking as you steam back to the buoy
Or anyone handy with a welder will make up a simple ring with a small loop attached to connect the buoy that will do the job of the anka yanka.
