Took my last trip for awhile on sat unfourtunatly had good day out catching pollack and ling only for my engine to pack in on way back to mooring!!! Got aux fired up and limped back to find my piston nearky turned sideways in the block so now im wondering where anyone could advise yo start the search for a good second hnd engine??? Budget of in and around 2500 looking for 75/80 no preference of make at moment

Sorry to hear that.. nothing worse. Hopefully you get sorted soon. Done DEal seems to be the best site there is at the moment. Like buying a car though, you need to know what you are looking at. There is an unbelievable amount of shite on there at silly prices, but if you are patient it can be a good place to buy. If you know anyone going to the UK in a car, you might want to look at Bill Higham Marine
