transducer help

hi all can anyone here explain to me the difference between the airmar b60 and the b117 transducers except price and where to pick one up here at a reasionable price compaired to uk or usa cheers

Hi Jacko 1,

Here are two links describing each of the transducers, from what I can see each has a different pin out lead (6 or 8) as well as optional transducer tilt angles. Both are Bronze thru hull and expesnive. Expect to pay over €200. However if you let me know what you are using it with, I may be able to advise further.

Hii coln ill be using it with a garmin gsd 22 and the 4008 gpsmap, bought the 4008 2nd hand before i realised how expenceive the sounder and transducer were.iI managed to get a sounder for half of what i could get it here in US but would rather spend the cash here if u got any more info would be welcome cheers

With the GSD 22 you have three options, Bronze Thru Hull - (Airmar B117), Plastic Thru Hull (Airmar P319) or Transom mount (Legacy)transducers. Priced at around €210 for Bronze, €100 for the Plastic and €65 for the Transom Mount. All are 6 pin, (best to check this on your unit). Hope this helps.

cheers for that colm but unfortionatly looks like ill have to look outside ireland to buy one but im fairly sure that the b60 is compatible with the gsd 22 i just dont know what is the difference except the price they seem to be identicall the b117 can be bought for 160us where the b60 costs around 200us cheers for the info
