sea fishing courses

hi all
just a quick question on the courses for sea fishing,do i have to start off on level 1 or can i go straight for level 2

I take you mean the National Powerboat Cert? (This is the Irish Version of the RYA level 2)
You take the course, if you are competent enough you will get the cert.
Anybody with some time under their belt on boats should pass.
Worth doing.

Sorry Tedser, I would not be familiar with anybody up your neck of the woods.
Sailcork down this way are grand :)
If you can get two others with you (normally 3 students to 1 instructor) you'll hammer out a good deal with whoever you run with.

I suppose it depends on your level of experience. I did the Level 2 and then the level 3. But if you'e a complete novice then starting at Level 1 might be best.

I did ask the instructor what Level 1 was like. He said it was pitched at this standard:

"See that big thing over there? That's a boat, that is. See the thing hanging off the back of it? That's an engine. it makes the boat go."

He may have been kidding. :wink:
