Hydrofoil fins, anygood!

hey

anyone yoused them Hydrofoil fins on the outbord.

for getting you faster up on the plain... ect...

would they damage the cavitation plait by drilling holes

Hi Anto,

There seems to be mixed opinion about them. Depending on Boat and engine setup, people do say that they can get you on a plane a little quicker and that you get hit your cruise speed as slightly less RPM and as such help with Fuel consumption. Reading about, some people have used them and say they have made no difference what so ever. What setup do you have?

ive 17 foot microplus 501 with 40hp yamaha 4 stroke power trim and tilt
when the tide is running it gets up to 28 knots and feels a little unstable
theres a large cabin on the front of the boat for the size of the boat, its a lake boat tho ive raised the transom to suit the long shaft.
