Hi all,
After taking the boat at the end of last season one of the wheel bearings totally collapsed and the wheel came off luckly it happened not far from home.
The problem i now have is the trailer and boat is up on blocks wondering if anyone can talk me tru a bearing change or better still know of anyone that could do the job for me for a fee of course? Living in Galway.
Cheers for any help.

Dave.

really is a very simple job Dave all i can say is make sure you do the two sides and always carry a spare bearing with you

when you do it once it will come as second nature to you.
wait till you have to do it in the dark on a country road

do it your self it will pay off in the long run.
the lad you might get to do it wont always be there

good luck.

Yes, that is a very good guide, took some time and effort.
I see no mention of bearing adjustment after fitting taper roller bearings (rather than cartridge bearings).
When all is done and you torque up the hub nut (to seat the bearings) be sure that you back off the the nut (two or three flats of the nut, if memory serves or until normal play occurs). Failing to back off will lead to premature failure.
