Question for the Moderators

I made a post the other day bringing to the attention of this forum about an anti angling group...IMHO it has nothing to do with...dead fish or posting photos of them....nothing to do with catch and release...match fishing or pleasure angling......it was just about our right inside the law to FISH !!! period....my question is....why the hell was that post shifted from what most would agree is the busiest part of the forum....like if its being swept under the carpet, or an attitude of if we cant see it then its not there or not going to happen......sounds crazy to me.

very good point tom,these people are very dangerous to our sport,look at what they did to hunting !!i have no doubt they collect photos of fish that where killed and photographed of all sites to help build there case against anglers for a TOTAL BAN ON FISHING.i honestly think it is right that we know about these people and there plans as they threaten our sport and hobby to the extent where it could be banned for all.its about time WE as anglers stood up for ourselves and our sport,not to mention the money we and our sport bring to the goverments pockets,for which we get no return what so ever.SO FELLOW ANGLERS BE ON YOUR GUARD THESE PEOPLE HAVE SEEN AND END TO HUNTING ,DONT LET FISHING BE NEXT.cheers john

Dead right John....at some time the anglers in Germany must have sat there and thought someone will stop the ban on angling....obviously they didn't.

Did the anglers in Ireland or England hear about this ban from the likes of EFSA or IFSA or SAMF....not to my knowledge they didn't...what about hearing it from others who stood to lose by the ban in Germany....EFTTA, ATA, or the Angling Foundation...ABU....Shakespeare....Daiwa....or even DAM (a German tackle company) again, not to my knowledge.......so.......my concern is.....there is NO neutrality in this... YOU ARE EITHER AN ANGLER OR YOUR NOT....even if you only fish once a year....your an angler....and that group are trying to have our..sport...pastime...pleasure...call it what you will BANNED all together...kapput!! NO MORE ANGLING....and this post has been taken from the one place in SAI that gets the most hits....if anyone thinks this is a rant because I started the thread....then please think again...

maybe they felt it wasnt a shore angling specific issue?

then make it sticky in the forum with the most hits to attract more attention all all anglers? plus add it as sticky to the boat section too?

I moved the thread.... Sorry if I offended you. I left it there for a few days before I moved it so it could be seen by all that entered that section. It is a really good post and a very serious issue. I did not intend to sweep this issue aside. I think it is very serious and one that needs everyones attention. I had recently split another thread in the shore angling reports and started a new thread in the conservation section. This one was moved to the conservation section at the same time I was doing that work. I did not mean to pi$$ you, or anyone off. It wasn't a Q&A so I thought the thread belonged in the conservation section. I did leave it there for some time before it was moved. Can I offer to move it back :?:

Thanks for the kind reply....I have a thick skin so don't worry about it mate. I didn't see where it had anything to do with C&R or conservation at all......if anglers are banned from fishing. then all else will be irrelevant

I personally think it should be in Q&A as we need as anglers to find an answer to the threat of having our right to fish taken away from us.like one of the other posters said....I think it was BigPhil....this threat should be posted as a "sticky" and discussed here in open forum as to what WE as angler do should we be accosted by these idiots.....a punch on the nose will only get public opinion on their side...we have some sound sensible thinkers on SAI there must be a law full solution to these cranks....they are advising on how to stop us fishing....in turn we need to prevent them from getting their own way.

Like I said....at some point the German Anglers must have sat back and thought...NEVER!! I don't want the same to happen here......all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do NOTHING!!!

To say it Pi$$ed me off wasn't the issue Mac....to think that it would only be seen by our own regular users after it got moved made me think...any visitors to the site who only check the main forum were going to miss it....one of them could be an English speaking German who may be able to help us...sooner not later...as is the case with their ban.

I think everyone who reads about these nutters should take the threat seriously.......we do need to!!! IMHO

Sorted Tom. Although with it being a sticky and to get maximum attention from all, I think it might need a different title. Any thoughts?

well said tom mate,its UP TO US ALL AS ANGLERS ,to stop these people in there tracks before they get the ball rolling.many people like the german anglers and the hunting people didnot take these people seriously and look what happened to them.i think its time WE as a number of people started acting as one voice,that WE ARE NOT GOING TO LET ANGLING GO ,AND WILL FIGHT TO PREVENT IT BEING BANNED TOTTALLY.
