"As good an excuse for the 4"" shell option, or piracy, as any, I think. The EU has made it it's business for years now to forge 'fishing agreements' with the world's poorest and most politically unstable coastal nations. It's been a howling success for the EU fishing fleet. Paying EU taxpayers money (mostly to warlords and dictators, by the way) to let a few dozen EU boats (big boats, I might add) strip mine the waters of the poor of the world. And it's done in our name. Anyone else proud to be from the EU and/or Ireland?"

the first i heard of this craic was back in 2000 when the EU were trying to agree on a new fisheries directive - it was the porteguese that had a load of agreements with former colonies that were having the finger waved at them
