Now that all versions of the Plesk control panel below 10 are officially end-of-life, we wanted to reach out to customers who still avail of services reliant upon any of them. I'm afraid that the control panel vendors are no longer supporting older versions of Plesk and due to limitations within their software we cannot upgrade you to Plesk 10+ on the platform you are on.
As such we are going to migrate your VPS to one of our newer VM plans free of charge, as the VPS with Plesk service is being discontinued fully.
What will this affect?
This will affect all services you have running on the following VPS subscription:
Linux VPS Basic (CentOS 5) + Plesk
78.153.208.164
Will this involve any downtime?
We will attempt to minimise any downtime but there will be a few minutes downtime at least as the DNS changes over. It is not possible for your VPS to keep its current IP address.Your web developers may have to make changes to get the sites working on the new VM depending on how they are designed, but we will try assist you in any way we can to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. We will also attempt to set up the VM to match the PHP version of your VPS as closely as possible to minimise any issues.
When are you doing this?
If we do not hear otherwise from you, your VPS will be migrated in the week of the 5th of October.
Do I have to pay anything?
You will not have to pay anything during the course of this migration. You will not be charged for the new VM, at the new price, until the renewal date of your current VPS.
What VM will you be ordering for me?
Unless you specify otherwise we will pick the VM that closely matches your current VPS limits. You can see our VM prices here:
https://cloudstore.blacknight.com. If you wish to move to a specific VM plan please let us know as soon as possible, otherwise we will have to choose one for you. It is possible to upgrade and downgrade later if you need.
What are the major changes that will occur during this migration?
It will not be possible to match the Operating System exactly. The operating system of your new VM will depend on your current operating system and preference:
Windows 2003 will be migrated to Windows 2012
CentOS and Debian VPS plans will be migrated to CloudLinux so we can match your current PHP version. If you wish to move to CentOS 6 instead please let us know, but please bear in mind you will have a later version of PHP that your websites might not be compatible with.
The IP address of your VPS will change, it is not possible for us to keep this as is.
The version of Plesk will change, you will be running Plesk 12 instead of Plesk 8.x or 9.x
