self-inflating lifejacket recommendations

can anyone recommend a value-for-money, good quality, self-inflating life jacket, say around 50euro ?

Yeah, i don't like to think that i would be compromising safety at that price, maybe i would be, but what I do notice is that there are some really good-looking (decent quality?) jackets on gum tree. But i would only really be guessing by looking at them in the pictures and reading about them - i am just seeking guidance on a few trustworthy brands or models
what am i looking for in a jacket..?

Mullion would be a quality make.

Have a look here but make sure you get one with a crotch strap you don't want the damn thing up over your head if you are unfortunate enough to fall in. The waveline auto one for €60 should do the job. And make sure you check it regularly by blowing it up by mouth and leaving overnight to check it out also a good idea to keep the gas cylinder clean of any salt build up which will corrode it. Enjoy your fishing safely.

Got this one a few months back and use it on the boat and from the shore http://marineparts.ie/waveline-auto-lif ... black.html. It is nice and light and you would barely notice that you are wearing it. Delivered for E60! I would recommend it.

I got bowled over by a wave as I was wading ashore from a punt on the Blaskets a few weeks ago. My Seago lifejacket (also from Marineparts) inflated instantly, so I can personally vouch for that make. And Yappo says right - crotch strap is a must.

im bidding for a used Mullion Mariner 275 on ebay. it has never got wet apparently and it seems to have the crotch strap alright. a 'trusted' ebayer is selling it.

Sometimes the 275 jackets are heavy. 275 is a "commercial" spec if I'm not mistaken. Usual recreational are 100-150 Newtons.

yeah i got that Jim, cheers. they are 1.2 kg, so just over 2,5lb. i decided to go for it anyway, should be ok i hope. it doesnt look too big in the pic either. and.. im a big man! i want to make sure it floats me
