One time was not enough for this fella to mouth off at me.Now im no saint but when i see a punt coming in from a mark where i fish i will reel in my line and let them pass no problem nothing thought of it as i did Saturday evening. As he got out of his punt with his old doll about 20 years younger .He tied up the punt with about 20 feet of rope so it was all over the place as he walked to the pub .so i just pulled it out of the way because he didn't care where it went but he knew it was in the way of my fishing and there was plenty of room to park it else where. But before i knew what was going on here he is back, with the what your f-ing problem .Dont you dare touch that he says to me, my son was with me so i was thinking take it handy and we had some very heated words. So went back today and here is the boy in the punt and again i started to reel in the lines he could see them, what did he do just drove sailed i dont know what you call it, ripped the hole lot of the braid off the reel just doing the prick even my young fella said what an arse hole. Now he was well out of order, but i know a good few lads who have boats here and they said some think they owned the place where is a little bit of courtesy gone

It would have been terrible if you had a bad cast and sent a 6oz lead thru his punt. Or worse if you dropped your knife and it hit his rope:-):-)

obviously he has had a bang of a 12oz er

we have a fairly narrow channel coming in and out of howth harbour. and i dont think iv ever snagged someones line.and thats with up to 50 lads fishing in a small area i think next time you go down dont bring the kids take note of his boat and report him to the yacht club and more importantly the harbourmaster they dont tolerate assholes useing there clubs or harbours.and i think you will find they will put a stop to this gobshites bad manners

I was not there so I can only guess . But when he snagged your line, did the tip of your very expensive rod not break ? If it did he would be guilty of wilfull damage, and would be responsible for replacing it. But as I said, I was not there and can only guess.

As you might have guessed from my username, I like my sailing as well as my fishing, although my sailing is done in an old 22 footer that cost less than a set of tyres for a range rover

. Being honest, the amount of snobby pr!cks you meet takes the craic out of it sometimes. My definition of gentleman involves courtesy and common decency and has feck all to do with expensive boats, cars and other shiny status symbols. I think its brilliant to see anyone making use of the water and I think we should all be encouraging each other. Fair play to ya for keeping cool with the 'c##t in the punt'
