The Government is enabling citizens to take an active part in the process. Taking an integrated approach to Ireland's marine resource is the way forward. Sea angling tourism and recreational interests have a real opportunity now to make a case, and show that the sport is not as niche as it is perceived, but can make a real contribution to the national economy.

I beg to differ, but this is not the place to do so.
I would just say that we all need to get our views and ideas out there, because be sure of one thing, the commercial interests will be in there putting it to the public that they need to be able to get more fish to put money into the public purse, and you know as well as I do, that the sheep in this state will take every thing that the well organised and propaganda machine, which the commercial boys are sure to put out, as the only way to go forward. All I am saying is that we need to get organised and have as good, if not better, a well oiled and fighting fit propaganda movement to not only put forward our own ideas and plans, but to counter the lies which we all know will be put forward to the public by the commercial outfits. It will require a huge effort by everyone to overcome the commercial boys, they are only interested in one thing and that is how much money they can strip from our seas, the fact that they will leave that very resources devoid of anything, not as much as a humble starfish will escape they if they got/get their way, does not seem to bother them in the least, never did so why should it now and spoil the habits of generations?
By the way, I got to say that I find it very surprising that An Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny, would issue a statement that contains grammatical and spelling errors, as has been done is his foreword. If we take his, or his assistant's, as a measure of his seriousness in this proposed measure, then God help us all.
