The operation, part of ongoing operations, centered around East Cork.

The more of this that can be done the better for the country.

lets hope the fines and penaltys match the crimes .a slap on the hand is not enough to stop them going straight back at it again

This can only be good news for all anglers. Of course it would have been better if they had caught the low lifes who set the nets, but at least it lets them know they are being watched. I truely hope this is the thin end of the wedge and we see more of it all over the country.

At least the net is out of action.Legit question here ,was the offender/offenders caught :?: why pictures of the officers "now" with the net and boxes of bass is this going to be the norm in the future or is it a statement of sorts due to bad publicity recently. Only reason asking is because nets seized in the past were never shown in public,so why now.
Not trying to stir it up just very curious as to why these pics are now in the public domain.Maybe its to put a message out there that the officers do respond to bass netting or maybe its a warning to others who may try make a fast buck by netting a few bass here and there.
At the end of the day its their job!Either way glad that net is gone and good work by all concerned, as it could have done a lot more damage than it did.

I hope this will be an ongoing year-round effort rather than something they'll do when they're not busy during the salmon season.

Good work.
