Greystones harbour today

Hi Lads took dog out for a ramble today and took a few photos of Greystones Harbour. Big difference since hoardings came down, so thought it might be of interest to some. :D

My thoughts exactly so might take a ramble down in a few months time and take a few more photos. :D

No reason for it not to stay nice and shiney once everybody takes all their rubbish home
with them

Not a lot we can do with yobbos  and the weather and gulls are natural and will add character to
the place .

Is the slip still in the same location as the last? Cheers...

yes, but it's a better slip. Be careful though, the public slip is not in an ideal place. It tends to get a small wave. Nothing too serious, but be mind full of it. Nowhere to tie your boat up so if you have 2 people for launch it helps as well.

I have been using the slip since early last year, as far as im concerned it's a leathal slip below the water line, there is a lot of green weed at the bottom of the slip i have seen cars struggling to get back up as it's a little steep, i have also lost my footing had a couple of slips on it myself while putting the boat back on the trailer, the surface is quite smooth i cant understand why they didnt make it a bit rougher rather than the diagonal channels they put onto it :? you have been warned

So is it safe in general!!! Most slips have alge grow under water line! Havet been out
on the boat in greystones in a good wile! Is it good for launching on low water?

@ Chilly was out there during lowtide and its possibe to launch small craft I think but it depends on the draw of the boat I thinks, dont know if they dredged the slip enterance.. but there was a lot of fencing up off the slip when when they carried out the work so i cant see why not.

Just hope the place stays clean

it is possible launch at all stages of the tide no problem, if you launch or retreive at low water you might have trouble getting back up off the algae depending what you are towing with, i have a fairly big 4x4 so it dont really bother me,the real threat is slipping and doing yourself an injury

Agree with what John1 has said about the slipperyness around the low water. I also have lost my footing on this slip so take care. Having used both a Peugeot 407 and a Mitsubishi Pajero on this slip I would advise to use a 4x4 at lower water.
