Some of those sizes are a bit small - 30 cm cod, 30 cm pollock, 25 cm flounder!!!!!!
And who wants to keep Ballan Wrasse, Mullet and Dogfish ????

Also the ray sizes at 41 cm are very small - although I would never keep a ray anyway.

But agree with most of the above comments, some of the recommended sizes do seem on the small side.

Great to have a guideline like this. Agree with above comments regarding flounder, cod and pollack, the sizes seem quite small for these species. Was watching an episode of 'river cottage' where Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall cooked up a dogfish curry I suppose we have a fairly narrow range of commonly eaten fish in this country. Still don't think I'll be tucking into Ballan and chips though!

Some of the sizes do seem a bit small, but you must bear in mind they are only guide lines. It does not mean that all fish of this size must be kept. Certainly nothing smaller than any of the sizes should be killed under any circumstances. Think of it like the speed limit, just cos it says 100km. per hour does not mean you have to travel at 100km.p.h.

Anyway, I think those sizes are the minimum scientific size that has the least effect on the stock... if you take smaller it will damage the stocks so go larger to whatever size you can ethically deal with.
