Irish Angling mags

Sent an article on Guinea Bissau to Irish Anger Magazine. Rang editor, Dave Dinsmore, in advance to see if he would be interested. He said yes if there were good photos. Article with photos copied to CD and posted. Never heard a word. Sent him an email...no reply. I rang him and asked him if he got the CD. He thought that he "saw it somewhere"!!

I would be curious to know if anybody else had the same experience?

As someone who buys this mag every month I was pretty disappointed that I never got any response.

Maybe this magazine is flooded with articles.

It's quite possible David's been busy with editing the magazine man. Or, is waiting for a relevant time to include your article.
I'm sure this happens all the time in publishing, eg. If someone sends in a Wrasse article late in the year, it would make sense to keep it til spring as that's the sort of time people get interested in Wrasse fishing again.
Maybe there's a back log of articles on foreign fishing, you don't want too many of those in a magazine in one month, after all, it is "Irish Angler"... lol...

I've read your report on the site on your experience overseas ( http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bulletin%20board/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=31669 ), Which I have to say is brilliant reading. But I'm sure anyone editing a nationwide angling magazine has a mountain of submissions from various anglers from all aspects of the sport bidding for space.

Thanks. I am sure that you are right in that he is too many articles.

I did ring David and email him without response. That is what puzzled me.

I love the mag and am an Irish Angler.
