That's some lump of a flattie. I can't imagine the kind of scrap you'd get off it, and on 30lb line  . I wonder what weight of fish does that halibut consume in a day. Must be a huge ammount to grow to that size.

According to the Newspaper article, ok, it was The Sun, but still  "Hansel, from Magdeburg, near Berlin, sold it for 2,500 pounds at a local fish market and split the money with the others on his trip." - so, fair play to the Oldtimer 8) and congrats to a fish of of a lifetime, well done :)

Unreal, what a fish and what a catch 8) I think it's safe to say that that's one PB that won't be beaten or bettered for quite a long time to come - if ever!
He looks quite shell shocked in the picture and no wonder, so would I be :D

anyone know what are these things around the head and gills? Could it be some smaller fish looking for protection or similar like suckerfish (Remoras) which are commonly found on whales or sharks?
