Rare/threatened fish protection in Ireland

Fri Dec 11, 2009 12:14 pm

Lads I am doing some work on rare fish species around the Irish coast. Mainly looking at inshore waters.
Any help or information on the following would be greatly appreciated.

What I am looking for is first hand accounts of capture or sighting of any of the following fish with details of where and what time of the year they were caught.

I am especially interested in the capture of juvenile fish.

If you dont want to post on the thread please PM me. No info will be shared but could help in the long term protection of these species.

Common skate under 30lb.

Undulate rays outside tralee bay and any juvenile fish.

Any white, black and long nose skate.

Any pictures of skate egg cases .

Angelshark/monkfish especially juveniles.

Spurdog pups or adult female pupping when brought on board after being caught.

Stingray outside of tralee bay

Stingray pupping after being caught and landed including tralee bay.

Any juvenile stingray caught between jan and june.

Any electric ray.

Any eagle ray.

Any other unusual skate, ray, shark.

Thank you

JP

Have you any pictures of the egg cases as I can identify the species of skate by the case shape.
