Wexford Tides book launched
A NEW handy booklet entitled ‘Wexford Tides for 2010’ was published this week and will significantly improve the accuracy of tide times and heights for the Harbour and Slaney.

Former tables were based on heights measured over several weeks more than 100 years ago.
The new ones are based on continuous measurements of the height of tide in Wexford for the last two years.

Brian Coulter, Secretary of the Boat Club, produced the new tide booklet.
He was responsible for collecting the tidal measurements, and encouraging the UKHO to use them to produce new predictions for Wexford.
Comparison with the measured times and heights of tides over the past year shows that they are much more accurate than all editions of tide tables previously used in Wexford.
The new tables cost €2.00 and can be obtained from the Lifeboat Shop, the Boat Club, Wexford and Kilmore chandlers and book shops and Hayes fishing tackle shop.
All profits go to the Wexford Lifeboat Station.
