tastiest fish!

well lads, what do you think os the tastiest fish in the sea? include shelfish too if you like! im not much of a fish eater but i had plaice the other night (the first time in years, since my granny used to make it), baked in the oven. have to say combined with a drizzled of lemon juice it was delicious  having eaten most other fish you'd commonly find in your average fish emporium, i'd have to list it as my favourite.

I think that Mackerel is one of the tastiest fish in the sea, its very good baked in the oven with chili paste rubbed into slits in the skin.
Dabs would also be a very tasty fish, best seasoned very lightly with a small bit of salt and a knob of butter covered in foil and baked in the oven.
Even though I hated them as a child because of the bones, Herring are very tasty either fresh or as Rollmops.

Bass is a very over rated fish in my opinion, it has a good texture to the flakes of flesh but it tastes very like mullet I think. Most people in this country tend to eat the same small range of fish and would turn their noses up at Dogfish, Gurnard, wrasse and even pollock. A very good book which I would recommend for anyone who enjoys eating fish and would like to try some of the less popular species is "The River Cottage Fish Book" by Hugh Fearnly- Whittingstall and Nick Fisher. Rick Steins "Seafood" is also a lovely book.

I suppose Mackerel could well be the tastiest fish in the sea as its nice fresh, smoked, pickled or even raw.And as a bait for other fish very few of them would leave it behind them.

Hard to beat wild caught fresh rainbow trout, caught and cooked within the hour.......yum, yum

As far as (my own) wild caught sea fish are concerned, I've only eaten pollock, bass, dab and whiting. Dab being the tastiest.

I eat a fair amount of seafood in general, plaice being my favourite fish so far, but there are other species I'll be trying in the future, particularly turbot.

Shellfish-wise, crab/prawns all the way :D :D

Having said that, I'm sure a lot of it is how its cooked
