More anti-social behaviour at Ennereilly

Sun Aug 31, 2008 11:04 pm

Well done to the idiots who fished close to the river at Pennycomequick on the night of 29-August-2008. You left a fine collection of rubbish for families and other anglers to contend with the next day - cardboard and plastic bait boxes, monofilament discards, plastic bags, mackerel in plastic, nice job.

And as for lighting fires at night close to the river where two swans live, just great. What is it with people lighting fires at this end of this beach? Stop it. Buy a jumper if you're cold. It's not the effing Artic. It just creates more filth and problems.

Thankfully most visitors to this beach behave themselves and take their crap home with them, but this was a disgrace. Next time, I'll take the car regs too.

Well done Uvox,
Next time do take the car regs. Every angler has a responsibility to respect the amenity that others will use after them. Its this kind of behaviour that gives ammunition for CC's to consider restricted use of certain forehore areas. Cop on before you wreck it for the rest of us :x  .

I passed over the bridge on friday evening noticed two individuals fishing, only took notice as both cars had western reg's.

well done too

Just a small point, I drive a D reg and I live in Castlebar. My wife drives a SO reg and we live in Mayo. Western regs does not guarantee western anglers, in fact sane people over here do not drive east to go fishing... except for competitions!

I only remembered them because at the time I was thinking, that was a long way to drive to catch dogfish  but point taken, although I never said those individuals were from any part of the country.

The bag is ASDA, we don't have that shop in Ireland, so it's either someone from the North or someone close to the border who shops up North, just thought it was worth mentioning.

they were not local anglers anyhow thats for sure , most local anglers use fresh rag and lug and peeler on that beach as they are the best baits to use, not many local lads would bother with frozen bait on ennerilley. and yes the lazy c**ts could have picked up after themselves, disgraceful.

Hi Lads, I fish the west clare and kerry direction and increasingly am finding more rubbish just thrown around many of the spots from fishing tackle to rubbish, alot of the rock marks around are in a disgracefull condition, what does it take to clean up after a session, these people show a complete lack of respect for other anglers and the enviornment. I'd love to know would they dump rubbish around their own place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
