I came across an Irish shop on eBay today, (though I'm probably too late to get stuff for the weekend), he has some good stuff in it. He doesnt have much feedback so he must be new, but I might try it out for some wegdes, shads and floats. Can't really go wrong with them.

Online tackle dealers

A shop sold me 5 boxes of dead rag the other week, I was extremely dissappointed as I had bought the bait for myself and 3 other users of this forum and I didnt notice it was dead until arriving down in South Wicklow for our session. I complained a few days later and all he said what do you expect me to do about it ?...needless to say the situation remained in dispute regardless of my efforts to resolve it.

It's his loss though in the long term as I had previosuly done most of my shopping in his shop, I'll buy elsewhere now even if it means a trip further afield.

Now before you all start moaning saying I shouldnt be slagging the dealer, I just want this to act as a warning to you all.....check your bait before you leave the shop atleast that way you have a bit of come back and wont waste an hour (or more) drive to a mark with useless bait!!!

Sorry to tomi that this has gone a little of topic

tomi,

I have spent lots of time recently checking out the deals available through ebay sellers.

I have bought a few bits of this guy before, very cheap, very reliable.

http://www.nailorsfishing.co.uk
email info@nailorsfishing.co.uk

I am just putting together a bulk order for myself and a mate with the guy as he has a maximum postage charge of £7.95 upto 20kg.

You can buy a lot of gear upto 20kg inc leads, line etc.

I recently paid £2.99 for 100 size 1 kamasans (+£0.93 for postage), it worked out to be €5.18. Most shops retail these hooks @ €2.25 for a pack of 10 !!! This worked out to be around 25% of the retail price, great value even though I only bought 1 item last time, imagine the savings if you buy a bit of stuff in one go

I'll send you a pm with the prices he emailed me for my bulk order, you'll be shocked at the saving over the tackle shops here in Ireland, just goes to show how greedy some of these shop owners really are

The exchange rate from € to £ at the moment is excellent value for us so it makes a great deal of sense to buy in the UK as irish tackle dealers are slow to react to exchange rate changes.

Hope this helps

Mark

Well, as You can see in my post subject, I was asking for dealers in Ireland- firstly.... but.... after checking few of those I decide to do my shopping in UK online shops. Much cheaper, and better selection of stuff. I recieve my goods no time. The order was made on late monday evening, and I hade my stuff in door on thursday morning! That shop was:

As you mention exchange rate is very good now. I had option to pay for my stuff in polish currency, but now is even better to pay in Euro.

Only one thing... postage was 20 pounds... and no free gifts
But for example 300 yards of Whiplash cristal braid cost me less than 30euro, where in shop best offer was little ower 40euro. Two spools and you have postage free :D

£20 postage seems expensive (unless you have ordered the entire store  )

Some online dealers will have a maximum postage amount, as I explained earlier.

Best of luck anyway, you got your gear in good time.
