found a thornie one the last day - they are quiet big!

Caught a fat doggie on Jan 10th that appeared to have a length of 6 inches or so of nylon protruding from its vent. Myself and Lee were certain sure this doggie had swallowed a hook and this was the remains of a snood it was attempting to pass. I gave it a light tug and it didnt appear to be giving way so I reached for the scissors to cut it off as close as possible. Imagine the surprise when gentle pressure resulted in all of a sudden an eggcase popping out.... :o

I don't know if we are the first people to ever assist at a Doggies birth(Certainly much less messy than either of my 2 childrens..... :D ), both fish and eggcase were returned to the sea ASAP. We like to think of ourselves as honorary god parents to the wee pup.... :lol:

myself and eric fished kilcoole a week ago and got at least 10 on our lines or in weed some empty and some occupied we didnt keep any but will keep empties from now on :?

well you dont need to keep them but i suppose it would be handy to have if you want to key them out roger!

all the ones on kilcoole where doggie cases small with curly tendrils

the purse's me and chris found 4 were ray purce's and 1 was a dogfish pruse
