MAC TACKLE WHAT A BIG LET DOWN

Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:10 pm

Im in the fishing club in the army and we all like to use the best quality of gear.

so after using various different flourocarbons we decided that the seaguar carbon pro was the best one for us.

so to test our sourcing ability we tried at home first rather than going to the states, and low and behold we found out that mac tackle had it and could get more( or so we were led to beleive)

i placed an order in mid february with mac tackle of 44 spools @€20 a spool (€880) which is a substantial order it is now over 9 weeks on and the guy running the show hasn't the decentcy to answer the phone or return a call

his name is nizan robinson

i beleive that i am not the first one this happened to with mac tackle

i discovered that
http://www.henrystackleshop.com (in dublin )
had it in stock

i went down he had 11 200m spools @ €20 in stock, i took them there and then, placed an order of another 40 spools and was garenteed that the will be in by the 31st of the month

henrys is also getting a good supply of the seaguar in

the 200m spools for €20, come in 25,20,15,12,10,8lbs

Nothing changed there then so...... A quick search on these pages will show that. Looking for an Irish supplier? Henrys and Crabrock rule. Forget about that other crowd of chancers. 2 orders placed with Crabrock last week, delivered in a couple of days with a load of freebies to try. They are open to feedback and have the manners to answer any questions promptly via email.

mactackle are a waste of space, an utter disaster and should be avoided at all costs. absolute rubbish. i would tell all the tales of woe i have had with them, but the 50 odd years that i hope to live for would never be enough time

Do they have a shop you can go to in person?

no, there actual location is shrouded in mystery.

some liken mactackle to the lost city of atlantis, everyone has heard of it but few if any have seen it (or seen their orders!)

I sent them an email asking the same question.

In the meantime I found this in their website regarding payment:

Cheques & postal orders should be made payable to Mactackle and posted to: Mactackle, 35 Cross Guns Quay, Dublin 7, Rep of Ireland.

Same for cash orders......

I got this reply from them:

Hi

We do not have a real store, we just sell online at the moment.

If there is anything I can help you with don't hesitate to get in touch. If
you are based in Dublin, we would consider bringing some items to you if
there are particular items you would like to see before your purchase.

We hope to hear from you.

Best regards

Maybe you should ambush them! Get them to come to your house and have everybody who has been done over by them waiting in the house...you never know it might work
