Drew wrote:Really enjoyed Jims presentation myself, your enthusiasm is infectious and the hands on approch was just great... Henry was also a must see, that fella oozes crazy angler from every pore... I was banging my head off the dividing wall waiting for Bob Nudd to finish his course fishing talk so Henry could get on!!! lol...
Some crowds at the show today, great to see it so successful! I personally tarted it up with a load of new SPs, a Zaltz LRF Rod, and an Exage 1000 reel to name just a few bits...
Good to meet Paul Harris, true gent!
Ps. JimC, I hope those low life scumbags who broke into your Car get their just deserts! My mate Davy had his L200 broken into in broad daylight at the show today also... some people have no shame.
. I saw jim in action and his bass talk was impressive to say the least, . I'm going to really target these bass this year and I picked up a few bits for the lrf so tomorrow they will be tested, good to meet you jim best of luck with the bass this year and the deep water tactics.

Just a heads up lads to any one thinking of going to the show tomorrow. Between last night and today there was 15 cars done over in the main car park.

Pure scum , it's a shame it has gone that bad, I heard after I was talkin to jim his car was done if so fair play to him for carrying on with the talk . I was talking to the lads at ballina centre and the amount of gear getting swiped was hard to believe, a reel of €200.00 dissappeared , and i hear there was groups of lads teaming up to swarm around tables and see what can be easily pocketed,. It's only a matter of time and this great fishing show wil be called off IMO .

Hi had planned to go today but 2 of my buddys were there yesterday the stayed 25 mins the said it was a waste of time a lot of shite tackle and not any cheaper than tackle shops here the wanted to see warrior boats stand the did not have one there . the did comment on the cars getting broken into one car beside them had window smashed the were lucky as he had is dog in the jeep on duty . looks like its gone from bad to complete shite that show might be ok for the course fishermen and fly fishers and people that like listen to storys of the fish to be caught around the country

not for me tbh i would rather tie rigs at home

The show was brilliant, way up on previous years IMO, some great deals if you knew how and where to get them, some were pure luck
Great to see some local dealers and big names showcasing their stuff, you take what you can from it if you're an angler, the shows not there for cheap gear, Aldi or lidl will do that.
Aldi won't let you get great info and tips from top guys who their stuff on various types of fishing, Mike Thrussel for one, Jim C was fantastic too, Henry is always great to chat to he's so passionate.
The Dublin Angling Initiative continue to grow too and their stand was great with top advice given freely from rigs and bait etc, from the Irish Shore Captain too no less!
So for me it was tops, I've being going a long time and the signs from this one are good and hopefully it gets bigger and better every year!

I thought the show was great. I enjoy going around and talking to people, as there's a whole wealth of knowledgeable brains there to be picked. Jim C & Henry Gilbey's seminars were worth the admission fee alone. Bought some great looking paddle tail worms and 3oz & 4oz jig heads from Luke Ashton, and kitted out my new boat with Chartplotter/Sounder & VHF. Did anyone else see the birds of Prey that the falconry crowd brought? They were deadly! Shame about the cars getting broken into. The organizers really should provide car park security!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I certainly enjoyed the show. While I was not really looking for anything to buy I was delighted with the opportunity to get a feel off some gear that you wouldn't normally see. The Pure fishing stand was very busy as was the Diawa stand. SouthSide had a fine collection of Illex and Pezon et Michel gear on show!
It was great to meet up with some guys from around the country.
