Bass being commercially exploited again!?

wake up lads!! did anyone see the blue and red pair trawlers off cork harbour all week ,,for the last 2 weeks there doing a bass survey all along the coast every harbour and bay ,,they had 7 ton for the last 2 weeks,,,,f###### c####

Is that 7 tons a day or for the whole two weeks? Do you know where they're landing them? I'd like to see this with my own eyes/camera.

pilchards half a mile off cork did you see them landing ?were did they land ?

Not to undermine or downplay what might be actually going on here but to the best of your knowledge are the bass being returned as part of this survey? I'm obviously extremely curious!!

Poor Boy if he is having problems find a few fish for the plate he can follow me anytime he wants.

Two or three hours out there and I’m bored from hauling in fish.

Boats involved were 2 pelagic vessels Lovon and Carmona.
They were fishing for pilchards which are ever present along the coast.
They are a NON-quota species.They were processed in Baltimore where they kept 25 workers busy for 3 weeks.
About a box of haddock and whiting were caught over the 3 weeks as by-catch.NO Bass were caught or landed.

thats not a very nice thing to say dont come crying to me when the bass fishing is open,,your not seeing the bigger picture,,maria damanaki has said that its time to open bass fishing on a small scale;;ie hooks and line,,minimise discards
