A member of the GardaĆ would see a hammer as an offensive weapon and you may end up in front of the man with the white wig.
You have now posted the fact on an open forum and this evidence could be used against you in a court case, I think, carrying with intent, is the legal therm.

It was just as a joke.
I have no need for a hammer I think I can use my mind faster to think of a way out.

But why so serious any way.

I see people here bringing vibrators for fishing lures
Is that publicly promoting porn !!!

Again the wonderful EU open door policy in action, where the scum of Europe are allowed to wonder freely around more tolerant countries than the ones they left or where put out off and do whatever they want. Alas, I digress........................

Report the incident to the guards no matter how minor you think it may have been and make sure it goes on record. Ask the guards for the incident number and then make a complaint to your local council. If a trend is there then there will be enough evidence for the guards, council or powers that be to act. But simply put, dont be taking matters into your own hands unless you are left with no other option and you are acting purely out of self defence.

Deise boy, I fully understand your sentiment and I took your comment as a bit of a throw away/joke remark also, hammers have been used since the dawn of time for various tasks from constructing beautiful log cabins, as a means of dispatching a fish or hammering poles into the ground, all valid reasons to carry one in your fishing box.

Hi folks,

Thanks for all the reply's, I was away with the kids camping. I went down the next morning and picked up all the rubbish that was thrown around the place and headed to the Garda station, which wasn't open :). I will be down fishing in the evenings and see how to goes.

It might be worth seeing if the local county councilors might erect a sign on the way down asking people to protect the wrasse, bearded rocklings and other species. A bit of education might work.

Just to state these guys where not Polish, I cant guess what nationality these guys where, two seperate groups.

Ok lads, a few posts today removed. No more allusions to violence, ball weights in socks, hammering poles etc.
