I grew up fishing and still am around courtown in wex on my own since about 10 yrs old, have had many similar situations even up to up to last summer! I helped get gear back for a few youg lads who were robbed by some caravaners! I have even probably helped the kids of the lads who bothered me when i was young to catch a few fish by donating a few sub size 2/0 hooks or a few worms on the pier. Any local garda into angling around there?

Lads, thanks so much for all the support. It's good to know we've got so many friends who would be willing to stand with us if we needed them. People should be allowed to enjoy their sport without having to endure stuff like that.

Just seeing this now, sorry for your trouble, harmless lads out fishing attacked, thats brutal Hope they get their comeuppance . Maybe if the lads off the site email the local council voicing their concern, they might take some notice .They mightnt like the attention it attracts from all over Ireland and maybe police it a bit better

As the saying goes, where is the world goin to?-- when you cant go fishing off a pier, in this country especially, for fear of having to put up with attacks from useless scumbags. Its like somethin out of a movie.
