Jaysus John you ripped me to shreds there!

Anyway I'll never admit to being wrong on anything, so in response,
The 70's and 80's!
Sure the only thing the Bass had in their favour then was that nobody fished for them in the numbers they do now, hence everyone thought there were more fish, ask some of the Big Bass catchers on here if they think Bass are scarce, they have caught hundreds every year and fair play to them in being able to do so. Furthermore there are more people now eating them in restaraunts than there were 30 years ago too so it's profitable to sell Bass, illegal or not! The ban won't stop that happening. Another thing that has happened in the last 10 tears is that we discovered Bass could be caught all year round, nobody knew that all those years ago when Bass were that plentiful. Further proof that there's plenty of Bass around.
My basic point is this, the Ban serves no purpose in ensuring future Bass stocks whatsoever!
The guys netting/fishing illegally for them and shipping by the tonne to the UK etc don't care about the ban either. It's those guys who get away with breaking the same law enforced on a guy taking 1 fish between May and June. Why have a law in place and not strongly enforce it? Serves no purpose in protecting Bass. It beggars belief to be honest that we feel by not keeping a few Bass for 1 month out of a year is helping them live for 20 years!
The Bass's biggest problem is Anglers saying how great they are! Demand demand demand!!!!!
